Langtang Valley Trek


    angtang valley trekking is the closest trekking region to Kathmandu, situated in northern part of Nepal covered an area of 1710 Square Meter and also known as old National Park of Nepal, established in 1976. This is nearest from Kathmandu where one may experience Sherpa and Tamang religion, culture, language and lifestyle, are very similar to that of Tibet. The Langtang valley also known as The Living Earth is aptly called the valley of glaciers where; mountains raise soaring toward the sky. During your trekking through National park, there are some chances to glimpse some of the animals like monkeys, snow leopard, musk bear and other large number of species and equally chance to observe rare animals.
    The valley offers beautiful landscapes; temperate forest, alpine pastures, glaciers, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow-caped peaks, lakes, juniper, rhododendron, bamboo and others rare vegetation forest and pretty villages make it a relatively easy and popular trekking destination. Not only those snow-capped mountains like: LangtangShishapangma, Murung, Moromoto, Yala Peak, Gongala and various glaciers of valley has added beauty in this region. The trails are challenging with long, steep climbs and descents, often though deep forests or across glacial moraines. Similarly, lots of Hindus and Buddhist shrines such as: Kyanjin Gompa, formidable pass (Gang-la), eminent frozen lake and hot spring has made it as like a paradise. At Briddim you can get experience of the famous Tamang hospitality, where there is home stay facility in 24 houses. In the upper part of the valley there are snow ridges spanning angry torrents, high passes enveloped in mist tiny lakes of crystalline brightness and glaciated mountain giants. Once you enter the Langtang valley you will see fluttering buddies prayer flags, brightly painted.

    Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu
    Upon your arrival our representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, after introductory meeting transfer you to hotel in Kathmandu. Rest of the day varies upon your arrival time; we can organize some activities if you arrived by midday or early afternoon but late afternoon and evening arrivals have a free day for individual activities. Overnight at Kathmandu hotel.
     
    Day 02: Half day sightseeing & final preparation
    After breakfast, encounter the day by sight viewing tours to different historical, spiritual and cultural attractions; including the Swoyambhunath, one of the most glorious Buddhist Chaityas probably the oldest temple of Nepal, famous for its nickname as Monkey Temple which has been registered in UNICECO heritage side. Then we will Pashupatinath, the most famous Hindu temple in the country, dedicating to Lord Shiva located on the banks of the holy Baghmati River. Here we see Hindu holy men (sadhus) meditating, pilgrims bathing and occasionally funeral pyres burning on the Ghats.
    From there our trip heads toward Boudhhatnath, the largest Tibetan Buddhist stupa of the valley located about 6km. away to the east of Kathmandu City, known as Khasti Chitya.The rest of our time in Kathmandu is free for further sightseeing, exploration & final preparation for next morning to trekking. In the late afternoon your tour guide will confirm departure information for the next morning. Stay overnight at hotel
     
     Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Syabru Besi 
    From Kathmandu, drive to Syabru Besi (1450m), the preliminary point of the trek which takes about eight/nine hours by bus/van through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabru Besi passing through Dhunche which give experience  the adventure of deep land. You can catch a glimpse of terraces and green hills and Ganesh Himal while passing along the road at the bank of Trisuli River. From Syabru Bensi, the adventure begins! Passing through many small villages on the way will be pleasing you with scraps of everyday living in these lowland villages. Overnight at hotel.
     
    Day 04: Trek Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel
    First day of trekking starts after taking breakfast, crosses through Bhote Koshi and follows the Langtang Khola and gradually climbs to Bamboo (1960m) enjoy through the rhododendron and bamboo forests. The most attraction of this forest is variety of wildlife such as red pandas, wild boars, yellow-throated martens, languor monkeys(The honey hunter animal), and Himalayan black bears etc. Thereafter, our trek ascends gently toward Rimche (2400m) intervene through Bamboo (1960meters), lies at the bank of Langtang Khola with local houses. And at the end your trail is level to the Lama Hotel (2,470m) for the overnight stay, this will take about 5:30hours.
     
    Day 05: Trek Lama Hotel to Langtang 
    After breakfast, from lama hotel we will ascend toward Gumanechok, Ghora Tabela (horse stable) and along the way you will be able to see the beautiful view of Langtang Lirung peak, Langtang Village and Langtang RI. The trek continues east and the valley opens out into the pastoral meadows of Langtang Village (3,480m) where you can find yak and the wild goats wondering around you. This normally takes 6 hours.  This is one of the old villages, where people live year round with cultivation like Potatoes, Buckwheat, Barley and vegetables similarly beautiful vegetation around Oaks, Hemlock, and bamboo's with birds also added the beauty, along this trekking route and the view from here is more spectacular as we get closer to mountain . We will spend rest of time walking around village and stay overnight at Guest house.
     
    Day 06: Trek Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa 
    We will continues our trek through the yak pasture to the mysterious and remote Gompa at Kyanjin (3730m), a short walk normally takes 4 hours and rest of the day you can enjoy surroundings, a famous Cheese factory (run through Yak Milk), ancient monastery,meadows with grazing Yaks, Sheep and Mountain goats. Kyanjin, a beautiful valley is in the lap of the Langtang Lirung, a good place to explore local culture similar as Tibetan which has been imitating from centuries. This place is famous for to explore the valley as well as lots of small peaks to climb. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
     
    Day 07: Kyanjin Gompa exploration day.
    Today we will do rest and explore the surrounding area, after the breakfast travel around the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyanjin RI (4350meters) and Tserko RI (5033m) for incredible view of the Langtang range which is ultimate point of this trek, directly behind the village, for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang peaks, Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji. Explore around the glacier and Himalayan Yak pasture. Overnight at guesthouse.
     
    Day 08: Trek Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel 
    After breakfast, descend down observing surrounding genetic snowy capped mountains breath-taking scenic view, fantastic views of towering mountain what you have missed on the way up. Still if you can visit glacier after 2 hours walk. From Kyanjin the trail retrace downhill to the Lama hotel through the some ancient Tamang settlement with fantastic views of towering mountain and some wildlife and pine and Junipers forests. After about 6 hours walks we will stay overnight at Lama Hotel (2470).
     
    Day 09: Trek Lama Hotel to Syabru Besi
    From Lama Hotel we continue our descent trail leaving the mountains behind us to the Syabru Bensi (1450m.) where the trek was start about a week ago. It takes five hours; the upper part of the trail is more exciting and beautiful for the panoramic view of mountains and hills. Our trip goes to the small village of Sherpa gaon, and continues onto Bhanjyang Gaon and Khan Jung before descending back to Syabru Besi. Stay overnight at guesthouse.
     
    Day 10: Drive for Kathmandu from Syabru Besi
     After breakfast, we will return back to Kathmandu from Syabru Besi which will take normally 8hours by bus/van, passing streams, rivers, terraces, local settlements, high hills and along the Trisuli river side. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu
     
    Day 11: Rest day & shopping
     This day is leisure day for you to rest after many days trekking. You can either relax whole day or you can explore around the city. You can roam around the shopping malls or you can buy handicrafts, Thankas and other various arts and sculptures in the markets. Rest of the time you can spend the evening leisurely, perhaps catch up on some last minute shopping and celebrate dinner together with Nepali Travel staffs. Overnight at Kathmandu hotel.
     
    Day 12: Depart Kathmandu: farewell friends
     According to your flight schedule, it is varies on your departure time rest of day is at leisure for independent activities of your interest until we pick you up at the hotel or we could plan some activities upon your choice if it is late hour flight and then transfer to airport for your further destination.
